AN INTERVIEW.
How did you start photographing? Do you remember?
I have been shooting since 2011. I started with a film camera and was really excited about this process itself.
How do your surroundings influence you and your work?
I began paying attention just to details of the surrounding where I live and places which inspire me.
What do you want to say through your work?
I can’t give a certain meaning to the photos. Everyone sees something different in my photos or doesn’t see anything at all. The majority of my work is nothing but things around me.
If photography didnt exist what do you think you would be doing?
I suppose I would have been working on quantum physics or graphics.
What are the themes that interest you most as an artist? how do you plan a shoot?
As an artist I am interested in the society of my country. I’m interested not in its problems (there are enough of them), but in the lack of culture.
Is there something you are working on at the moment?
I will be doing fashion photography, which may just delight your aesthetic glance or may not, because the main location is a slum (soviet-built houses) and a typical style of that time.
