“The project started as a collection of portraits that I was taking while working with neon and colored light sources. I started noticing that a lot of my friends and subjects had their cell phones visible in the images or around them, and decided to play with that. I thought about the kind of images that are usually taken on a cell phone, a pure form of documentation; like taking a picture of something on the ground to remember it.I also thought about selfie culture, and recording your life to leave a ghost.”
