If you happen to be in New York you gotta check this one out, it will be on till October 8th:
New York City’s Georges Berges Gallery announces the debut of artist Mel Odom‘s paintings in conjunction with an adjacent one-man show by Michael Carson. Odom’s work was recently featured on DRECK magazine and consists of a collection of doll portraits done in a highly personal style. Many of the dolls depicted are from the mid-19th century and date back to the Civil War. In the artist’s eyes, these are the last of the Civil War widows and deserve notice. The show opens September 8 and will be at the Georges Berges Gallery for a month.
